Air Cadets get to travel all over the country attending camps at RAF Stations, Military Training Facilities and at our own Adventure Training Centres in the Lake District and Wales. Not only do we have camps in the UK, but also in Gibraltar and Cyprus meaning International travel is certainly possible. If you are more senior in your cadet service, the chance to take part in the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) programme could see you visiting, Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand, Ghana, Hong Kong and many other countries.
Our most frequent camps are those within the UK to a variety of RAF Stations, generally lasting a week at a time during school holidays.
During your week at camp, you will stay in the same accommodation that RAF people stay in, eat where they eat and get a good taste of what life in the RAF is all about. You will get the chance to go flying (possibly in different aircraft from the normal Tutor) and shooting and you will also do lots of other activities which vary from camp to camp. They might include things like karting, museum visits, work experience visits, initiative exercise, map reading exercises, swimming and sports. Our recent camps have included RAF Stafford, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Odiham, RAF Valley, RAF Linton On Ouse, RAF Boulmer, RAF Cosford and RAF Brize Norton.
Adventure Training Camps, see you try all the AT Activities, from Climbing to Walking, Abseiling to Kayaking. If we can do it, we do to give you a great experience, learn new skills and get the most out of your time as a Cadet.
