The Weather outside may have been dismal, but the wealth of Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards being handed out made up for it inside.
It was a great pleasure to welcome Cadets and their families to RAF Digby's Officers Mess, to award 26 cadets with their Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Awards. After a welcome introduction from Wing Commander Tony Wright, Officer Commanding Trent Wing, the recipients were each presented with their Certificates and the new Silver Brassard Badge. It was also a pleasure to welcome Group Captain Nigel Gorman, Regional Commandant for Central and East Region back to Digby to present each of the awards.
It was not only the cadets who were recognised. 3 Commandants Certificates for Meritorious Service were presented to the Adult Volunteers. Rev Cannon John Thorold, former Wing Chaplain, Squadron Leader Mark Edwards and Warrant Officer Mark Saxby received their certificates, marking their significant contributions to Trent Wing and the RAF Air Cadets.
Squadron Leader Simon Dunn received his Cadet Forces Medal and WO Saxby, was awarded the his first clasp to his medal.
A huge congratulations to all the recipients
