Armed Forces Day 2020

The last weekend of June normally see's Cadets from across Trent Wing take part in Armed Forces Day celebrations across the length and breadth of the Wing. From large events to small the support by Trent Wing is massive, remembering the past, supporting the Current and looking to the future of our Armed Forces.

This year with the Coronavirus Pandemic and the suspension of Face to Face Activities within the RAF Air Cadets, we take a look over some of the large events the Wing has taken part in focussing around the NE Lincolnshire Armed Forces Weekend, held in Cleethorpes each year.

In 2016 the town hosted the main national event, with the full support of Royal Navy, British Army and The Royal Air Force. Our Cadets were embedded in all aspects of the event, from the Parades, Music, Exhibitions, Demonstrations and even the Guard of Honour for the VVIP's including the then Prime Minister David Cameron.

Then in 2018, the centeinery year for the RAF, Trent Wing were asked to support the event once again to celebrate RAF 100. With over 100 Cadets and staff taking part in the main parade, the Light Blue footprint of Trent Wing joined RAF personnel, Bands and veterans at another successful event.

Fingers crossed that 2021 will see Armed Forces Day return in its normal guise. For now enjoy all the virtual and online activities taking place!
