On Sunday 12th October 2025, cadets from across Trent Wing gathered at RAF Cranwell for this year’s Trent Wing Cross Country Championships. The event saw an incredible turnout, with 175 cadets from 18 Squadrons taking on the challenge — a fantastic increase from last year’s 119 competitors.

The day showcased the determination, teamwork, and resilience that define our cadets, as they tackled challenging routes across Cranwell’s open terrain. Competitors ran in four categories — Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Senior Girls, and Senior Boys — with impressive performances throughout.

A huge congratulations to all cadets who took part — whether competing for medals or cheering from the sidelines, your effort and enthusiasm made the day a success.

Special thanks go to Flt Lt R. Gaywood, Wing Sports Officer, for organising the event, and to the dedicated team of staff and volunteers who ensured the day ran safely and smoothly. Additional appreciation goes to 203 (Gainsborough) Squadron for keeping everyone fuelled with an excellent tuck shop throughout the day.

The Wing looks forward to seeing many of these talented athletes represent Trent Wing at the upcoming Region Cross Country Championships — good luck to all those selected!
